Maybe Small Closets are a Good Thing?

Linking up with Real Housekeeping's Clean-up Link-up for this month, which is organizing your closet.  I recently tackled the "store everything but the kitchen sink" that is my closet.  When you run out of hangers it's time to purge some clothes.  Here's the state of the closet before I started:

As you can see, it's a "Stow-it-all" closet.

I pulled out any baskets, boxes, and containers that I had on hand:

First I pulled out the off-season gear like swimsuits, mittens, and tights.  They were organized into this box with Velcro dividers that I scored off clearance at Target:

Just how many tee shirts does a gal need?  Apparently I'm working on the answer to that, I found brand new tee shirts in my stash.  I ended up with three groups: White shirts, colored shirts, and a large pile of "good for contact with bleach, paint, or garden soil" (of which I seem to have enough for a whole army of household helpers -- any takers?).

Once everything was back in place and organized, it seemed like I actually had less room in my closet.  Not sure what happened -- Oh wait!  Could it have something to do with my recent trip to the Ann Taylor Factory Store?  Um, I plead the Fifth on that one...  Maybe that's why I was short on hangers, but a girl needs new clothes for spring, right?

Sorry, no view of the floor as I haven't gotten to the shoes yet.  Some of them need to go, but that would mean another shopping trip, right?
